Out of all the anime for the summer anime line-up, Kuroshitsuji II has been one of the few series I’ve been looking forward too. Those of you that have never heard of Kuroshitsuji, it started out as a manga created by Yana Toboso and later became a franchise in Japan, spawning into the first anime and musicals. The second series, however, doesn’t take part of the manga, but takes place a year or so in the future after where the last anime ended.
To start this off, why not show the opening for this series, Shiver by GazettE:
I’m quite certain a lot of people weren’t expecting the previous butler, Sebastian Michaelis ( Daisuke Ono), to reappear in the new anime. I expected at least a cameo, but no. Instead of that, A-1 decided to troll us all into believing that Alois and Claude were the new master and butler. Of course, the fans raged with it was announced originally that Sebastian and Ciel would not return for the new series in the first place. When Sebastian first showed up at the Trancy Estate, we all noticed that he was carrying a suitcase. When confronted by Claude, he immediately started to defend the suitcase as if something important was in there. Of course something important was in there! Ciel’s soulless body was in there! PLOT TWIST? Nah, not really. Considering how the first anime made it look like the two had a romance going on or something doesn’t surprise me at all. I’m sure it did to some fans, considering Sebastian wants to devour Ciel’s soul. Perhaps it was so delicious he wanted it again? Obviously I do not remember the first anime well enough considering I hated the ending for it.
After Sebastian leaves the mansion and runs into the forest, we see him put a ring on Ciel’s thumb and he is revived (not shown, but proof resides in the preview for next week.
Honestly, I was really hoping for the series to be based around Claude and Alois, considering this has been what we were told for what, six months? I hope they partake later on in the series. According to 2ch and the Live Journal community, it’s rumored that they will be the villains of the series. It’s plausible, considering Alois ecstatic remark when he saw Ciel and stated that he finally found him. Perhaps we can get a tea party or something?
Alas, regarding Claude and Alois. Claude (Takahiro Sakurai) is a pretty fabulous butler. He tapdanced while performing parkour during the scene where he was setting the table for dinner. That my good sir, is absolutely fabulous. Alois (Nana Mizuki) is quite a jerk, which makes me love his character. First, he unbuttoned his shirt while Claude dressed him and then punished his maid for having looked him in the eye and stabbed her eye out. Quite a bastard, don’t you agree? These two would be fine villains if that rumor was true.
Ending song: Bird by Yuya Matsushita
I’ll continue watching this, despite the fact the first series was a major train wreck, here’s to it being… however it turns out. Bitches should be happy that it’s popular enough for another series to begin with. I missed Ciel and Sebastian, and I don’t read the manga until it’s released over in America to begin with. A-1, DON’T FAIL ME NOW, OKOK?
The preview showed the entire cast at the Phantomhive Estate with a living Ciel, Sebastian punishing the servants, and Ciel’s fiancee. Next Thursday cannot get here fast enough, can it?
